OLGA SCHÄFER
The elements that make my work artistes, interact in harmony, both color and composition, work from building materials or recyclables. My work has an aesthetic in which the joy of the forms attached to a special significance, is what the images do not dare to translate and at the same time allows for reflection on what might be called a concept expression. On issues such as:
- "Rituals contemporary West." 2003: Work done with mixed media, wood, collage, acrylic, tar, etc. Materials that make up twelve boxes animated, from concept ... Western contemporary rituals, such as, fashion, the fast, lightweight, among other items that illustrate the fees segudos by the masses.
- "Everyone is going down the same road", 2005. Work done from a standard target, a bidet, which is disguised as a sheep or lamb, also the group of these elements plays the flock of sheep that are in the same direction, like automatons, all following the same path but there is always the black sheep that is diverted to another address. - "Work in Progress", 2005. Work done with elements of construction, painting done in mixed media, from collage, cement, plaster, acrylic, stones, etc. It also is complemented by elements used in the construction of architectural works, forming an installation. The concept grew out of that life always is a perennial build and build.
This is how my work is generated from predetermined concepts within the criteria of abstract expressionism, taking advantage of the freedom of artistic techniques, my work has psychological content, urban and spiritual, not closed in proper visual technique.
The forms do not close before the iconography and to the collective imagination, but they play between rhetoric and poetic creation.
